KVIS
organized the project “Plants in Literature”, providing students with hands-on
learning experiences that integrated Thai language and literature, social
studies, biology, and the school’s Eco & Low Carbon School initiative.
Students explored plant species mentioned in literary works, conducted
botanical surveys, collected field data, and assessed tree carbon
sequestration. The project surveyed more than 3 rai of
campus area (approximately 0.48 hectares), documenting 391
trees from 63 species and estimating a total carbon
sequestration capacity of over 40,822 kgCO₂e.
In May
2026, KVIS was awarded a Letter of Recognition (LOR)*under
the Low Emission Support Scheme (LESS) by the Thailand Greenhouse Gas
Management Organization (TGO). The recognition officially validated the
school's greenhouse gas reduction and carbon sequestration achievements,
highlighting its contribution to environmental sustainability and climate
action.
This
achievement reflects KVIS’s commitment to transforming classroom learning into
meaningful environmental impact while empowering students to become responsible
global citizens and future sustainability leaders.
